6. Add two teaspoons of cardamom powder, and optionally nutmeg or cinnamon powder, then shape into ladoos.

How do I clean dirty stove knobs the easy way?

Oil and food bits build up inside gas stove knobs and feel impossible to reach. Here’s the quick method:

1. Gently pull the knobs off — they come away easily.
2. Spray them with any kitchen cleaner, a homemade spray, or plain soapy water.
3. Scrub with a small brush. Keep three or four different brushes near your sink for these small jobs.
4. For deep grime, use a thin brush or a soft-bristled toothbrush that reaches into corners without scratching the surface.
5. If a brush won’t fit, use cotton buds to pull out grime and trapped oil from deep inside.
6. Wipe down with a damp cloth.

A job that looks difficult finishes in seconds. Keep a fresh, unused toothbrush aside just for kitchen cleaning — never one you’ve already brushed with. Used toothbrushes are fine for floors and other surfaces.

Pour good hot water into the pan and let it sit until the ghee fully loosens, then scrub. Washing directly leaves the vessel poorly cleaned and coats your scrubber in grease — which then needs its own hot-water soak. Soaking first saves that double effort.

How do I remove pen and ink stains from clothes?

Refill-pen and ink stains on kids’ or a husband’s shirts often survive even a machine wash. This method needs no scrubbing soap at first:

1. Put a little Dettol directly on the pen, sketch-pen or pencil stain.
2. Leave it for about 2 minutes.
